From the Book of Fasting
باب فِيمَنْ يُصْبِحُ جُنُباً وَهُوَ يُرِيدُ الصَّوْمَ:
Chapter: One Who Wakes Up Junub and Intends to Fast
Hadith Number: 1763
اخبرنا ابو عاصم، حدثنا عبد الملك يعني ابن جريج، اخبرني ابن شهاب، ان ابا بكر اخبره، عن ابيه، ان ام سلمة، وعائشة اخبرتاه، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم"كان يصبح جنبا من اهله، ثم يصوم".
The Mother of the Believers, Lady Umm Salamah, and the Mother of the Believers, Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with them both), reported that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would sometimes enter the morning in a state of major ritual impurity due to intercourse, and yet he would still fast.
