Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Sayyiduna Umar bin Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated a hadith to me that on the day of Khaybar, many companions were martyred. People began to say: So-and-so and so-and-so are martyrs, until they mentioned a man and said that he was a martyr. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Never! I saw him in the Hellfire, in a cloak or a sheet which he had stolen from the spoils of war." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to me: "O son of Khattab! Stand up and announce among the people that only the believers will enter Paradise." So I stood up and went and made the announcement among the people.
