Hadith Number: 220
Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) led us in one of the two afternoon prayers after the sun had passed its zenith, either Zuhr or Asr, and he ended the prayer after two rak‘ahs with salam. A man who was called Dhu’l-Yadayn said: O Messenger of Allah! Did you forget or has the prayer been shortened? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:“Rather, I forgot.”Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and prayed two rak‘ahs, then performed two prostrations of forgetfulness while sitting, and then he gave salam.
