Prohibition of voluntary prayer when obligatory prayer is being held
Hadith Number: 226
حدثنا الحسن بن علي السراج القاضي البصري ، حدثنا الفضل بن يعقوب الجزري ، حدثنا مخلد بن يزيد ، حدثنا روح بن القاسم ، عن عاصم الاحول ، عن عبد الله بن سرجس ، قال: راى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم رجلا"يصلي ركعتي الفجر وهم يصلون صلاة الصبح، فقال له النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: ايتهما جعلت صلاتك"، لم يروه عن روح، إلا مخلد، تفرد به الفضل
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Sarjis (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw a man performing the two rak‘ahs of Sunnah of Fajr during the congregational prayer, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Which of these have you made your prayer?"
