Book of Prayer
It is not permissible to join a pillar before joining the row in congregational prayer
Hadith Number: 319
حدثنا محمد بن يوسف الصابوني البصري ، حدثنا العباس بن الوليد النرسي ، حدثنا وهيب بن خالد ، حدثنا عنبسة بن ابي رائطة الغنوي ، عن الحسن ، عن ابي بكرة ،" انه دخل المسجد ورسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قائم في الصلاة، فركع دون الصف، ثم مشى إلى الصف، فلما انصرف رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم، قال: زادك الله حرصا، ولا تعد"، لم يروه عن عنبسة، إلا وهيب، تفرد به العباس النرسي
Sayyiduna Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I went to the mosque and found the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) standing in prayer. He says that he performed ruku‘ outside the row and then moved towards the row. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) finished, he said: "May Allah increase your eagerness, but do not do this again."
