Book of Supplications and Remembrances
Description of the prescribed supplication to protect children from Satan, poisonous creatures, and the evil eye
Hadith Number: 957
حدثنا عمرو بن ثور الجذامي ، حدثنا محمد بن يوسف الفريابي ، حدثنا سفيان الثوري ، عن ابن ابي ليلى ، عن المنهال بن عمرو، عن سعيد بن جبير ، عن ابن عباس رضي الله عنه، ان النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم كان"يعوذ الحسن والحسين، فيقول: اعيذكما بكلمات الله التامة من كل شيطان وهامة، ومن كل عين لامة"، لم يروه عن سفيان، عن ابن ابي ليلى، عن المنهال، إلا الفريابي
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to seek refuge for Sayyiduna Hasan and Sayyiduna Husayn (may Allah be pleased with them both) with these words: " «أَعِيذُكُمَا بِكَلِمَاتِ اللّٰهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لَامَّةٍ» "I seek refuge for you both in the perfect words of Allah from every devil, and every poisonous creature, and from every envious harmful eye."
