Description of acceptance of Islam expiating all previous sins committed in disbelief
Hadith Number: 977
حدثنا محمد بن حفص بن بهمرد العسكري ، حدثنا إبراهيم بن المستمر العروقي ، حدثنا الضحاك بن مخلد ابو عاصم ، حدثنا مستورد بن عباد ابو همام ، حدثنا ثابت البناني ، عن انس بن مالك ، قال: قال رجل: يا رسول الله،" ما تركت من حاجة ولا داجة إلا اتيت عليها، قال: اليس تشهد ان لا إله إلا الله، وان محمدا رسول الله؟، قال: نعم، قال: فإن هذا ياتي على ذلك كله"، لم يروه عن ثابت، إلا مستورد، تفرد به ابو عاصم
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: A man said, "I have not left any sin, whether small or great." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Do you bear witness that there is no deity except Allah and that Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) is the Messenger of Allah?" He said, "Yes." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "This thing overcomes all of them."
