The Book of Prayer
(إِذَا وَافَقَتْ رَكْعَةٌ مَعَ الْإِمَامِ فَقَدْ وَافَقَ الْجَمَاعَةَ)
(If one rak‘ah matches with the Imam, it counts as joining the congregation)
Hadith Number: 1412
1412 - (وعن ابي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - من ادرك ركعة من الصلاة مع الإمام فقد ادرك الصلاة. متفق عليه).
Abu Huraira reported God’s Messenger as saying,“If anyone is in time for a rak‘a in the prayer along with the imam he has said the whole prayer.”(Bukhari and Muslim.)
