The Book of Manners
(أَكْبَرُ الْخَطَرِ مِنَ اللِّسَانِ)
(The greatest danger is from the tongue)
Hadith Number: 4843
4843 - وعن سفيان بن عبد الله الثقفي - رضي الله عنه - قال: قلت: يا رسول الله ما اخوف ما تخاف علي؟ قال: فاخذ بلسان نفسه وقال:"هذا". رواه الترمذي، وصححه.
Sufyan bin Abdullah Thaqafi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I asked, "O Messenger of Allah! What do you fear most for me?" The narrator states: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) held his tongue and said, "This." (Tirmidhi, and he declared it authentic.) Authentic, narrated by Tirmidhi.
