The Book of Manners
(رَائِحَةُ الْكَذِبِ تَصِلُ إِلَى مِيلٍ)
(The stench of lying reaches a mile)
Hadith Number: 4844
4844 - وعن ابن عمر - رضي الله عنهما - قال: قال رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم:"إذا كذب العبد تباعد عنه الملك ميلا من نتن ما جاء به" . رواه الترمذي.
Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "When a servant tells a lie, because of its stench, the angel moves a mile away from him." Its chain is weak. Narrated by al-Tirmidhi.
