The Book of Merits
(خَبَرُ شَهَادَةِ حُسَيْنٍ فِي مَنَامِ حَضْرَةِ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا)
(The news of Husayn’s martyrdom in the dream of Hazrat Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her)
Hadith Number: 6166
وعن سلمى قالت: دخلت على ام سلمة وهي تبكي فقلت: ما بيكيك؟ قالت: رايت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم-تعني في المنام-وعلى راسه ولحيته التراب فقلت: ما لك يا رسول الله؟ قال: «شهدت قتل الحسين آنفا» رواه الترمذي وقال: هذا حديث غريب
Salma said: I went in to visit Umm Salama and found her weeping. I asked her what was making her weep and she replied that she had seen God's messenger (meaning in a dream) with dust on his head and beard. She asked him what was the matter and he replied, "I have just been present at the slaying of al-Husain." Tirmidhi transmitted it, saying this is a gharib tradition.
