Musnad of the Syrians
حَدِيثُ مِرْدَاسٍ الْأَسْلَمِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of Mirdas al-Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 17728
حدثنا محمد بن عبيد ، قال: حدثنا إسماعيل ، عن قيس ، عن مرداس الاسلمي ، قال: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول: " يقبض الصالح الاول فالاول، ويبقى كحثالة التمر" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Mirdas Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying: The righteous people will be taken away one by one, and only worthless people will remain behind, like the husks of dates (or barley), whom Allah will not care about.

حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد ، حدثنا إسماعيل ، حدثني قيس ، قال: سمعت مرداسا الاسلمي ، قال: " يقبض الصالحون الاول فالاول، حتى يبقى كحثالة التمر او الشعير لا يبالي الله بهم شيئا" .
