Musnad of the Syrians
حَدِيثُ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of Al-Muttalib ibn Abi Wada'ah (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 17892
حدثنا عبد الرزاق ، حدثنا معمر ، عن ابن طاوس ، عن عكرمة بن خالد ، عن المطلب بن ابي وداعة ، قال:" رايت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم سجد في النجم، وسجد الناس معه" ، قال المطلب: ولم اسجد معهم. وهو يومئذ مشرك، قال المطلب: فلا ادع السجود فيها ابدا.
It is narrated from Hazrat Mutlib bin Abi Wada'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) that I saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) perform a prostration of recitation at the verse of prostration in Surah An-Najm, and all the people also prostrated, but I did not prostrate because at that time I was a polytheist. Therefore, now I will never leave out the prostration in it.

حكم دارالسلام: صحيح لغيره، وهذا إسناد ضعيف لانقطاعه، عكرمة بن خالد لم يسمع من المطلب

حدثنا إبراهيم بن خالد ، حدثنا رباح ، عن معمر ، عن ابن طاوس ، عن عكرمة بن خالد ، عن جعفر بن المطلب بن ابي وداعة ، عن ابيه ، قال:" قرا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بمكة سورة النجم، فسجد وسجد من عنده" . فرفعت راسي، وابيت ان اسجد. ولم يكن اسلم يومئذ المطلب، وكان بعد ذلك لا يسمع احدا يقرا بها إلا سجد معه.
