First Part of Musnad of the Basrans
بَقِيَّةُ حَدِيثِ سَعْدِ بْنِ الْأَطْوَلِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
The remainder of the hadith of Sa'd ibn al-Atwal (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 20076
حدثنا عفان ، حدثنا حماد بن سلمة ، اخبرنا عبد الملك ابو جعفر ، عن ابي نضرة ، عن سعد بن الاطول : ان اخاه مات وترك ثلاث مائة درهم، وترك عيالا، فاردت ان انفقها على عياله، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " إن اخاك محبوس بدينه، فاقض عنه" فقال: يا رسول الله، فقد اديت عنه إلا دينارين ادعتهما امراة وليس لها بينة , قال:" فاعطها، فإنها محقة" ..
It is narrated from Hazrat Sa’d bin Atwal (may Allah be pleased with him) that my brother passed away, leaving behind three hundred dinars and small children. I wanted to spend something on them, but the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Your brother has died in debt, so go and pay off his debt first. So I went and paid off his debt, then came and submitted, O Messenger of Allah! I have paid all my brother’s debt, and except for one woman, no creditor remains. She claims two dinars, but she has no witness. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Consider her truthful and pay her debt as well.

حكم دارالسلام: حديث صحيح، وهذا إسناد ضعيف لجهالة عبدالملك أبى جعفر
Hadith Number: 20077
حدثنا عفان ، حدثنا حماد بن سلمة ، عن الجريري ، عن ابي نضرة ، عن رجل من اصحاب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بمثله.
The previous hadith is also narrated through this second chain of transmission.
