Abu Abdullah Jasri says: I asked Hazrat Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) about drinks, so he said: We used to live in Madinah Munawwarah where dates were abundant. There, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) made the drink called Fadheeh forbidden for us. Then a man came and asked Hazrat Ma'qil bin Yasar about his elderly mother, whether Nabidh could be given to her because she could not eat any food. Hazrat Ma'qil forbade him from doing so.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Surah Al-Baqarah is the hump and height of the Noble Qur'an. With every verse of it, the same angel descended, and Ayat al-Kursi was brought out from beneath the Throne and later joined with Surah Al-Baqarah. And Surah Yaseen is the heart of the Noble Qur'an. Whoever recites it seeking Allah and the Hereafter, his sins are forgiven, and recite it over your deceased.

It is narrated from Hazrat Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) that once we were on a journey with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). We camped at a place where there was an abundance of garlic. Some Muslims ate it, and then began to pray in the mosque with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade them from eating raw garlic. When it happened again, he forbade it again, and when it happened a third time, he said: "Whoever eats from this tree should not come near our mosque."

It is narrated from Hazrat Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I assisted the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in performing ablution. After ablution, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Will you go with me to visit Fatimah to inquire about her health?" I replied, "Yes, certainly." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) leaned on me and stood up and said, "Soon, someone other than you will bear this burden, and you too will receive reward." The narrator says, "It felt to me as if there was nothing upon me until we reached the house of Hazrat Fatimah." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked her, "How are you?" She said, "By Allah, my grief has increased, my hunger has become severe, and my illness has prolonged." Abdullah bin Ahmad says, "I found in my father's book, in his handwriting, after this hadith, this addition: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'Are you not pleased that I have married you to the one from my Ummah who is foremost in accepting Islam, greatest in knowledge, and most magnificent in forbearance?'"

It is narrated from Hazrat Ma'qil that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "After a short time following me, oppression will begin to appear. As oppression appears, justice will disappear to the same extent, until a time comes when every child born in oppression will know nothing else. Then Allah will bring back justice, and as justice returns, oppression will disappear to the same extent, until a time comes when every child born in justice will know nothing else."
