Musnad of the Ansar
حَدِيثُ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ مُقَرِّنٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Hadith of al-Nu'man ibn Muqarrin (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 23744
حدثنا عبد الرحمن ، وبهز ، قالا: حدثنا حماد بن سلمة ، عن ابي عمران الجوني ، قال بهز: قال: اخبرنا ابو عمران الجوني، عن علقمة بن عبد الله المزني ، عن معقل بن يسار ، ان عمر استعمل النعمان بن مقرن فذكر الحديث، قال يعني: النعمان: ولكني شهدت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، فكان " إذا لم يقاتل اول النهار، اخر القتال حتى تزول الشمس، وتهب الرياح، وينزل النصر" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Ma'qil bin Yasar (may Allah be pleased with him) that Hazrat Umar Farooq (may Allah be pleased with him) appointed Hazrat Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) as an official... Then he mentioned the complete hadith. Hazrat Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I participated in battles along with the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). If the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not fight in the early part of the day, he would delay it until the sun had declined, the winds began to blow, and divine help descended.

Hadith Number: 23745
حدثنا اسود بن عامر ، انبانا ابو بكر ، عن الاعمش ، عن ابي خالد الوالبي ، عن النعمان بن مقرن ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وسب رجل رجلا عنده، قال: فجعل الرجل المسبوب يقول: عليك السلام، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " اما إن ملكا بينكما يذب عنك كلما يشتمك هذا، قال له: بل انت وانت احق به، وإذا قال له: عليك السلام، قال: لا بل لك انت، انت احق به" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Nu’man bin Muqarrin (may Allah be pleased with him) that in the presence of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), a man spoke harshly to another. The other man kept replying, "Alaikas salam." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There is an angel present between you two. Whenever this person says something bad to you, the angel defends you and replies to him, 'You are like that, and you are more deserving of it.'"

Hadith Number: 23746
حدثنا عبد الصمد ، حدثنا حرب يعني ابن شداد ، حدثنا حصين ، عن سالم بن ابي الجعد ، عن النعمان بن مقرن ، قال: قدمنا على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في اربع مائة من مزينة، فامرنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بامره، فقال بعض القوم: يا رسول الله، ما لنا طعام نتزوده! فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم لعمر: " زودهم"، فقال: ما عندي إلا فاضلة من تمر، وما اراها تغني عنهم شيئا، فقال:" انطلق فزودهم"، فانطلق بنا إلى علية له، فإذا فيها تمر مثل البكر الاورق، فقال: خذوا، فاخذ القوم حاجتهم، قال: وكنت انا في آخر القوم، قال: فالتفت وما افقد موضع تمرة، وقد احتمل منه اربع مائة رجل .
It is narrated from Hazrat Nu'man bin Muqarrin (may Allah be pleased with him) that once four hundred people from Muzainah came to the service of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave us all the instructions he intended to give. Then some people said, "O Messenger of Allah! We have nothing to eat that we can use as provisions for the journey." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), "Give them provisions for the journey." He replied, "I have only a few leftover dates, and I do not think they will suffice for them." The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "Go and give them those." So Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) took us towards an upper room of his, where there were some dates lying like a gray camel. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Take them." So everyone began to take dates according to their need. I was the last of all. I saw that not even the place of a single date was empty, even though four hundred men had taken dates from there.
