Musnad of the Ansar
حَدِيثُ سُوَيْدِ بْنِ مُقَرِّنٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى عَنْهُ
Hadith of Suwayd ibn Muqarrin (may Allah be pleased with him)
Hadith Number: 23740
حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن مهدي ، عن سفيان ، عن سلمة يعني ابن كهيل ، عن معاوية بن سويد ، قال: لطمت مولى لنا، فقال له ابي : اقتص، ثم قال: كنا معشر بني مقرن سبعة، ليس لنا خادم إلا واحدة فلطمها احدنا، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: " اعتقوها"، فقيل له: ليس لهم خادم غيرها، قال:" لتخدمنهم، فإذا استغنوا عنها فليعتقوها" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Suwaid bin Muqarrin (may Allah be pleased with him) that a man slapped a slave girl belonging to the family of Suwaid. Hazrat Suwaid (may Allah be pleased with him) said to him, "Do you not know that it is forbidden to strike the face? We were seven brothers and had only one servant. One of us once slapped her, so the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered us to set her free. The brothers said, 'We have no other servant besides her.' The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, 'Then continue to take service from her, and when you no longer need her, set her free.'"

حدثنا محمد بن جعفر ، حدثنا شعبة ، عن حصين ، قال: سمعت هلال بن يساف يحدث، عن سويد بن مقرن ، قال: كنا نبيع البز في دار سويد بن مقرن، قال: فخرجت جارية لسويد، فكلمت رجلا منا فسبته، فلطم وجهها، فقال سويد:" لطمتها! لقد رايتني وإني لسابع سبعة من إخوتي ما لنا إلا خادم، فعمد احدنا فلطمها، فامرنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بعتقها" .

حدثنا هشيم ، اخبرنا حصين ، عن هلال بن يساف ، ان رجلا كان نازلا في دار سويد بن مقرن، قال: فلطم خادما، قال: فغضب سويد ، فقال:" اما وجدت إلا حر وجهه، ولقد رايتني ونحن سابع سبعة من ولد مقرن، وما لنا خادم إلا واحد عمد إليه واحد فلطمه، فامرنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا رجعنا ان نعتقه، فاعتقناه" .

Hadith Number: 23743
حدثنا روح ، حدثنا شعبة ، عن ابي حمزة ، قال: سمعت هلالا ، رجلا من بني مازن يحدث، عن سويد بن مقرن ، قال:" اتيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم بنبيذ في جرة فسالته، فنهاني عنها فكسرتها" .
It is narrated from Hazrat Suwaid bin Muqrin (may Allah be pleased with him) that once I brought nabidh in a jug to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and asked him about its ruling. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade me from it, so I took the jug and broke it.
