حدثنا سفيان ، حدثنا سالم ابو النضر ، قال: حدثني زرعة بن مسلم بن جرهد ، عن جده جرهد ، قال: مر بي رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وانا في المسجد، وعلي بردة، وقد انكشفت فخذي، فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم:" غط فخذك يا جرهد، فإن الفخذ عورة" ,
Sayyiduna Jarhad Aslami (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: Once the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by me while I was in the mosque. I had a sheet over me, but my knees were uncovered. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Jarhad! Cover your knees, for the knee is part of the 'awrah (private area that must be covered)."
