Sayyiduna Qais (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) saw me performing two rak‘ahs after the morning prayer. The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked:“O Qais! What are these two rak‘ahs?”I replied: O Messenger of Allah! I was not able to perform the two rak‘ahs (Sunnah) of Fajr, so these are those two rak‘ahs. The Prophet (peace be upon him) remained silent. Sufyan says: Ata bin Abi Rabah narrates this hadith from Sa‘d bin Sa‘id.
