Hadith Number: 980
حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا الزهري ، قال: اخبرني ابو سلمة ، عن ابي هريرة ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " من صام رمضان إيمانا، واحتسابا غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه، ومن قام ليلة القدر إيمانا واحتسابا، غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه" .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): "Whoever fasts in Ramadan with faith and seeking reward, his past sins are forgiven. Whoever stands (in prayer) on the Night of Qadr with faith and seeking reward, his past sins are forgiven."
