Hadith Number: 988
حدثنا سفيان ، قال: حدثنا ابو الزناد ، عن الاعرج ، عن ابي هريرة ، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " الإمام امير، فإن صلى قاعدا فصلوا قعودا، وإن صلى قائما فصلوا قياما" .
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The Imam is a leader; if he performs the prayer sitting, then you should also perform the prayer sitting; if he performs the prayer standing, then you should also perform the prayer standing."
