Wahb bin Kaysan narrates: I saw Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) performing prayer in Madinah Munawwarah on that evening when people depart on the first day. Then he informed: Abu al-Qasim (peace and blessings be upon him) used to excel in matters of goodness, but Marwan’s slave, Dhakwan, outpaced the pilgrims; he brought news of the people’s safety. Sufyan says: Dhakwan recited this verse:“I am the one who made this (mount) hasten from the people of Mina to the people of Yathrib.”
