Shu’bah bin Taw’am reports: Qais bin ‘Asim asked the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) about alliances (halaf), so the Prophet (peace be upon him) said:“There is no status for alliances in Islam, however, you should firmly uphold the alliance of the pre-Islamic era (Jahiliyyah).”
