كِتَابُ وُقُوْتِ الصَّلَاةِ
Book: On the Explanation of Prayer Times
بَابُ مَنْ أَدْرَكَ رَكْعَةً مِنَ الصَّلاَةِ
Chapter on one who catches a rak‘ah of the prayer
Hadith Number: 14
حدثني يحيى، عن مالك، عن ابن شهاب ، عن ابي سلمة بن عبد الرحمن ، عن ابي هريرة ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، قال: " من ادرك ركعة من الصلاة، فقد ادرك الصلاة"
Sayyiduna Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever catches one rak'ah of the prayer has caught that prayer."

Hadith Number: 15
وحدثني، عن وحدثني، عن مالك، عن نافع ، ان عبد الله بن عمر بن الخطاب ، كان يقول: " إذا فاتتك الركعة فقد فاتتك السجدة"
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) said: When your bowing (ruku) is made up, your prostration (sajdah) is also made up.

Hadith Number: 16
وحدثني، عن وحدثني، عن مالك، انه بلغه، ان عبد الله بن عمر ، وزيد بن ثابت ، كانا يقولان: " من ادرك الركعة فقد ادرك السجدة"
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, says that it has reached me from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, and Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit, may Allah be pleased with him, that both of them used to say: Whoever catches the bowing (ruku'), he has caught the prostration (sajdah).

Hadith Number: 17
وحدثني وحدثني يحيى، عن مالك، انه بلغه، ان ابا هريرة ، كان يقول: " من ادرك الركعة فقد ادرك السجدة، ومن فاته قراءة ام القرآن فقد فاته خير كثير"
Imam Malik, may Allah have mercy on him, says that it reached him from Sayyiduna Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, who used to say: Whoever has caught the bowing (ruku‘) has caught the prostration (sajda), meaning he has caught the rak‘ah, and whoever did not get to recite Surah Al-Fatihah, much good has passed him by.
