بَابُ تَخْمِيرِ الْمُحْرِمِ وَجْهَهُ
Muhrim covering his face
Hadith Number: 717
حدثني حدثني يحيى، عن مالك، عن يحيى بن سعيد ، عن القاسم بن محمد ، انه قال: اخبرني الفرافصة بن عمير الحنفي ، انه راى عثمان بن عفان بالعرج " يغطي وجهه وهو محرم"
It is narrated from Faraafisah bin Umair Hanafi that he saw Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, at ‘Arj (the name of a village, three stages from Madinah), covering his face in ihram.

Hadith Number: 718
وحدثني، عن وحدثني، عن مالك، عن نافع ، ان عبد الله بن عمر ، كان يقول: " ما فوق الذقن من الراس فلا يخمره المحرم"
It is narrated from Hazrat Nafi that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to say: The upper part of the chin is included in the head; a Muhrim should not cover it.

Hadith Number: 719
وحدثني، عن وحدثني، عن مالك، عن نافع ، ان عبد الله بن عمر كفن ابنه واقد بن عبد الله ومات بالجحفة محرما وخمر راسه ووجهه، وقال: " لولا انا حرم لطيبناه" .
قال مالك: وإنما يعمل الرجل ما دام حيا فإذا مات فقد انقضى العمل

It is narrated from Nafi‘ that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) gave a shroud to his son Waqid bin Abdullah, and he had died at Hajfah while in the state of ihram, and he said: If we had not been in ihram, we would have applied perfume to him and covered his head and face.
Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) said: This is because all the legal obligations are until life remains; when a person dies, his actions also come to an end.

Hadith Number: 720
وحدثني، عن مالك، عن نافع ، ان عبد الله بن عمر ، كان يقول: " لا تنتقب المراة المحرمة ولا تلبس القفازين"
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) used to say: A woman in the state of ihram should not cover her face with a veil, nor wear gloves.

Hadith Number: 721
وحدثني، عن وحدثني، عن مالك، عن هشام بن عروة ، عن فاطمة بنت المنذر ، انها قالت: " كنا نخمر وجوهنا ونحن محرمات ونحن مع اسماء بنت ابي بكر الصديق"
It is narrated from Fatimah bint Mundhir that we used to cover our faces while in Ihram, and we were with Sayyidah Asma bint Abi Bakr (may Allah be pleased with her), and she did not forbid us from doing so.
