Book: On the Explanation of Sacrificial Animals
بَابُ مَا يَجُوزُ مِنَ الذَّكَاةِ فِي حَالِ الضَّرُورَةِ
Chapter on what is permissible of slaughter in necessity
Hadith Number: 1030
حدثني يحيى، عن مالك، عن زيد بن اسلم ، عن عطاء بن يسار ، ان رجلا من الانصار من بني حارثة، كان يرعى لقحة له باحد فاصابها الموت، فذكاها بشظاظ فسئل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن ذلك فقال: " ليس بها باس فكلوها"
It is narrated from Ata bin Yasar that an Ansari man was grazing his she-camel in Uhud, when suddenly it was about to die, so he slaughtered it with a striped stick. Then he asked the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ), and the Prophet ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) said: "There is no harm, eat it."

Hadith Number: 1031
وحدثني، عن مالك، عن نافع ، عن رجل من الانصار، عن معاذ بن سعد ، او سعد بن معاذ، ان جارية لكعب بن مالك كانت ترعى غنما لها بسلع، فاصيبت شاة منها، فادركتها، فذكتها بحجر فسئل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن ذلك فقال: " لا باس بها فكلوها"
It is narrated from Hazrat Mu'adh bin Sa'd that a slave girl of Ka'b bin Malik was grazing his goats at Sala', (a mountain near Madinah). One of the goats was about to die, so she slaughtered it with a stone. Then she asked the Prophet (peace be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "There is no harm, eat it."

Hadith Number: 1032
وحدثني، عن وحدثني، عن مالك، عن ثور بن زيد الديلي ، عن عبد الله بن عباس انه سئل عن ذبائح نصارى العرب، فقال: " لا باس بها، وتلا هذه الآية: ومن يتولهم منكم فإنه منهم سورة المائدة آية 51"
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) was asked whether the slaughtered animals of the Christians of Arabia are permissible or not. He replied: They are permissible, and then recited this verse «﴿وَمَنْ يَتَوَلَّهُمْ مِنْكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْهُمْ﴾» "Whoever among you takes them as friends, then surely he is one of them."

Hadith Number: 1033
وحدثني، عن وحدثني، عن مالك، انه بلغه، ان عبد الله بن عباس، كان يقول: " ما فرى الاوداج، فكلوه"
Imam Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) has received that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to say: Whatever cuts the veins, then eat it.

Hadith Number: 1034
وحدثني، عن مالك، عن يحيى بن سعيد ، عن سعيد بن المسيب ، انه كان يقول: " ما ذبح به إذا بضع، فلا باس به، إذا اضطررت إليه"
Saeed bin Musayyib used to say: Whatever is used for slaughtering, when it cuts (the throat), there is no harm in eating it when there is a need.
