Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz from Urwah ibn al-Zubair
بَابُ ذِكْرِ صَلَاةِ اللَّيْلِ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَحُضُورِ سِيدَةِ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا
Chapter: Mention of the night prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and the presence of Lady Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her
Hadith Number: 57
حدثني احمد بن يحيى السوسي ، ثنا محمد بن عمر ، ثنا محمد بن خالد ، عن إسماعيل بن ابي حكيم ، عن عمر بن عبد العزيز ، عن عروة ، عن عائشة رضي الله عنها. وابن ابي حبيبة ، عن داود بن الحصين ، عن عروة ، عن عائشة ، قالت: كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم " يصلي من الليل وانا بين يديه معترضة على فراشه" ، قال ابن ابي حبيبة: وزاد ابن خالد في حديثه:" اعتراض الجنازة، فإذا اراد ان يوتر ايقظني فاوترت".
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray at night while I would be lying on the bed in front of him. Ibn Abi Habibah said: In his narration, Khalid added the words "lying like a corpse." And when he intended to pray Witr, he would wake me up as well, and I would also pray Witr.
