Shaqiq bin Salamah narrates from Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he performed ablution, so he washed his face three times, rinsed his nose three times, rinsed his mouth three times, wiped his head, wiped the inner and outer parts of his ears, washed his feet three times, combed through his beard, and combed through the toes of his feet, and said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) performing ablution in this manner."

Hazrat Shaqiq bin Salamah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that I saw Sayyiduna Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) performing ablution, so he washed his hands three times, rinsed his mouth, put water into his nose, and washed his face three times, and wiped the inner and outer parts of his ears, washed both his feet three times and did khilal (passing fingers) between the toes, and when he washed his face three times, he did khilal of his beard, and said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) doing as you have seen me doing. Abdur Rahman says that (the teacher Isra'il) also mentioned washing both hands including the elbows, but I do not know how he narrated it. Imam Abu Bakr (may Allah have mercy on him) says that 'Amir bin Shaqiq is Ibn Hamzah Asadi, not Ibn Shaqiq bin Salamah, and Shaqiq bin Salamah is Abu Wa'il.
