جُمَّاعُ أَبْوَابِ تَطْهِيرِ الثِّيَابِ بِالْغَسْلِ مِنَ الْأَنْجَاسِ
Chapters on Purifying Clothes from Impurities
(216) بَابُ اسْتِحْبَابِ غَسْلِ دَمِ الْحَيْضِ مِنَ الثَّوْبِ بِالْمَاءِ وَالسِّدْرِ، وَحَكِّهِ بِالْأَضْلَاعِ،
Chapter 216: Recommendation to wash menstrual blood from clothing with water and lotus leaves, and to scrub with ribs
Hadith Number: Q277
إذ هو احرى ان يذهب اثره من الثوب إذا حك بالضلع، وغسل بالسدر مع الماء، من ان يغسل بالماء بحتا.
Because instead of washing with water alone, when it is scraped with wood and washed with water and lotus, it is more effective and efficient in removing the trace of blood.

Hadith Number: 277
نا بندار ، نا يحيى ، نا سفيان ، عن ثابت وهو الحداد ، عن عدي بن دينار مولى ام قيس بنت محصن، عن ام قيس بنت محصن ، قالت: سالت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم عن دم الحيض يصيب الثوب، فقال:" اغسليه بالماء والسدر، وحكيه بضلع"
Sayyidah Umm Qais bint Mihsan (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that I asked the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) about menstrual blood that gets on clothes, so he (peace be upon him) said: "Wash it with water and lotus leaves, and scrape it off with a piece of wood."
