Sahih Ibn Khuzaymah
جُمَّاعُ أَبْوَابِ الْأَفْعَالِ الْمُبَاحَةِ فِي الصَّلَاةِ
Chapters on Permissible Acts in Prayer
(327) بَابُ الرُّخْصَةِ فِي بَصْقِ الْمُصَلِّي عَنْ يَسَارِهِ أَوْ تَحْتَ قَدَمِهِ الْيُسْرَى
327 Chapter: Permission for the Worshipper to Spit to His Left or Under His Left Foot.
Hadith Number: 874
نا عبد الجبار بن العلاء ، حدثنا سفيان ، عن الزهري ، عن حميد بن عبد الرحمن ، عن ابي سعيد الخدري ، ان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ابصر نخامة في قبلة المسجد فحكها بحصاة، ونهى ان يبزق الرجل بين يديه، وعن يمينه، وقال:" ليبزق عن شماله او تحت قدمه اليسرى"
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saw phlegm towards the qiblah of the mosque, so he rubbed it and cleaned it with a pebble. And he forbade a person from spitting to his right side or in front of him (during prayer). And he said: "He should spit to his left side or under his left foot (on the unpaved ground)."

Hadith Number: 875
نا يونس بن عبد الاعلى ، اخبرنا ابن وهب ، اخبرني يونس ، عن ابن شهاب ، اخبرني حميد بن عبد الرحمن ، انه سمع ابا هريرة ، وابا سعيد الخدري ، يقولان: قد راى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم نخامة في القبلة، فتناول حصاة، فحكها، ثم قال: " لا ينتخمن احدكم في القبلة، ولا عن يمينه، وليبصق عن يساره، او تحت رجله اليسرى"
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah and Abu Sa‘id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with them) narrate that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) saw phlegm towards the direction of the Qiblah, so he scraped it off and cleaned it with a pebble. Then he said: "None of you should ever spit phlegm facing the Qiblah or to his right side, and he should spit to his left side or under his left foot (when necessary)."
