(40) بَابُ ذِكْرِ الْبَيَانِ أَنَّ الزَّكَاةَ وَاجِبَةٌ عَلَى مَا زَادَ عَلَى الْمِائَتَيْنِ مِنَ الْوَرِقِ
40| Chapter on the evidence that zakat is due on what exceeds two hundred dirhams
Hadith Number: Q2297
ضد قول من زعم ان الزكاة غير واجبة على ما زاد على المائتي درهم حتى تبلغ الزيادة اربعين درهما.
Against the statement of those who claim that zakat is not obligatory on what exceeds two hundred dirhams until the excess reaches forty dirhams.

Hadith Number: 2297
حدثنا علي بن حجر السعدي ، حدثنا ايوب بن جابر ، عن ابي إسحاق ، عن عاصم بن ضمرة ، عن علي قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم: " هاتوا ربع العشور من كل اربعين درهما، وليس فيما دون المائتين شيء، فإذا كانت مائتي درهم، ففيها خمسة دراهم، فما زاد فعلى ذلك الحساب"
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Pay one dirham as zakat out of every forty dirhams, and there is no zakat on less than two hundred dirhams. Then, when it reaches two hundred dirhams, five dirhams are due as zakat, and whatever is more than that, zakat is obligatory on it as well at the same rate (one-fortieth part)."
