(112) بَابُ ذِكْرِ جَزَاءِ الضَّبُعِ إِذَا قَتَلَهُ الْمُحْرِمُ
Chapter: The penalty for killing a hyena by someone in ihram
Hadith Number: 2646
حدثنا سلم بن جنادة ، حدثنا وكيع ، عن جرير بن حازم ، عن عبد الله بن عمير ، عن عبد الرحمن بن عبد الله بن ابي عمار ، عن جابر بن عبد الله ، قال: جعل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم في الضبع يصيبه المحرم كبشا نجديا، وجعله من الصيد"
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that if a muhrim (person in the state of ihram) kills a badger, then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) prescribed as its expiation a Najdi ram. And he (peace be upon him) declared the badger to be a game animal.

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with both of them) narrates that you ruled the expiation for killing a badger is to give a ram.
