٢٠٣٧٩ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: نا ابو اسامة عن صالح بن مسلم قال: سالت الشعبي قلت: رجل وامراته حكما رجلين ثم بدا لهما ان (يرجعا) (١) قال: ذلك لهما ما لم يتكلما، فإذا تكلما فليس لهما ان يرجعا.

Hazrat Salih bin Muslim (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) if a husband and wife appoint someone as an arbitrator and then reconcile, what is the ruling? He replied that this is permissible for them until the arbitrator speaks; once both have spoken, then they cannot reconcile.
