A Person Pawns the Quran

٢٤٦٣٢ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا عبد الاعلى عن هشام عن الحسن ومحمد في الرجل يرهن المصحف بالقرض (قالا) (١): لا يقرا (فيه) (٢) وإن اذن صاحبه، وإن كان في بيع فاذن له صاحبه قرا فيه، (٣) وإلا لم يقرا فيه.
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) في [أ، هـ]: (قال).
(٢) في [ط]: (منه).
(٣) في [ز]: (وإن أذن صاحبه).
It is narrated from Muhammad and Hasan that if a person gives the Qur'an as collateral in exchange for goods, he should not recite it even if the other person grants permission. However, if it is in a sale and his companion grants permission, then he may recite it; otherwise, he should not recite it.
