Hazrat Abu Amrah narrates that it was asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! In what condition did you begin the morning? He (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: With well-being, among a people who do not attend funerals nor visit the sick.

Hazrat Jabir narrates that I asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! In what state did you begin the morning? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: With goodness, better than the person who did not begin the morning in the state of fasting nor visited any sick person.

Hazrat Khaythamah narrates that I asked Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her): In what condition did you wake up this morning? She replied: With the blessings of Allah.

Hazrat Ibn Aun says that I passed by Hazrat Amir Sha'bi while he was sitting in the courtyard of his house, so I asked: How are you? He replied: When Hazrat Shurayh was asked, "How are you?" he would say: I am in His blessings, and he would point towards the sky with his index finger.

Hazrat Bukair says that a man asked Hazrat Abu Tamimah Al-Hujaymi: "How are you?" He replied: "I am between two blessings: one is among hidden sins, and the other is among such praise that none of these people know about, and by Allah, I myself have not attained it, nor am I worthy of it."

Hazrat Mughira narrates that when Ibrahim was greeted with Salam, he would reply, "And upon you." And when he was asked, "How are you?" he would reply, "I am in the blessing of Allah."

Hazrat Ismail bin Abi Khalid narrates that a man asked Imam Shabi: O Abu Amr! In what condition did you wake up this morning? He replied: In blessings. I asked: In whose blessings? He replied: In the blessings of Allah.

Hazrat Mughira narrates that when Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about his condition during illness, he would reply, "In a very bad state," and would recite this verse: Translation: "And We will test you with good and evil."

Ayyub says that I saw a man who met Hazrat Ikrimah in Madinah and asked: How are you? He replied: I am in a bad state, both my hands are torn and I am like this and like that. The narrator says that he used to interpret this verse. { وَنَبْلُوکُمْ بِالشَّرِّ وَالْخَیْرِ فِتْنَۃً وَإِلَیْنَا تُرْجَعُونَ }.

Hazrat Ata bin Mubarak says that when Hazrat Abu Abdur Rahman Sulami was asked: "How are you?" he would reply, "With well-being, and we thank Allah." Hazrat Ata says that I mentioned this before Hazrat Abu Al-Bakhtari, so he said three times: "From where did he adopt this manner?"
