Regarding the Man Who Accuses His Own Son: What Is Obligatory?

٣٠١١١ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن عيينة عن (رزيق) (١) قال: كتبت إلى عمر بن عبد العزيز في رجل قذف ابنه، فقال ابنه: إن جلد ابي اعترفت، فكتب إليه عمر اجلده إلا ان يعفو عنه.

Hazrat Razeeq narrates that I wrote a letter to Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz regarding a man who had accused his son of adultery. His son said: If my father is flogged, I will confess. So Hazrat Umar replied to him in a letter: I will have him flogged unless he forgives him.

٣٠١١٢ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا الضحاك بن مخلد عن ابن جريج عن عطاء في الرجل يقذف ابنه فقال: لا يجلد.
Hazrat Ibn Jurayj states that it is narrated from Hazrat Ata regarding a man who accused his own son; upon this, he said: He will not be flogged.

٣٠١١٣ - حدثنا ابو بكر قال: حدثنا ابن مهدي عن مبارك عن الحسن في الرجل يقذف ابنه قال: ليس عليه حد.
Hazrat Mubarak states that it is narrated from Hasan Basri regarding a man who accused his own son; he said: There will be no hadd (legal punishment) upon him.
