Book of Supplication
من كان يحب إذا دعا أن يقول: ﴿ربنا آتنا في الدنيا حسنة وفي الآخرة حسنة وقنا عذاب النار﴾
The Prophet (ﷺ) Liked to Say in Supplication: 'Our Lord, Grant Us Good in This World and Good in the Hereafter, and Save Us from the Punishment of the Fire'

٣١٣١٠ - حدثنا يحيى بن ابي (بكير) (١) عن شعبة عن ثابت ان النبي ﷺ كان يدعو:"اللهم ﴿ربنا آتنا في الدنيا حسنة وفي الآخرة حسنة وقنا عذاب النار﴾ (٢).

(١) في [أ، ب، جـ، هـ]: (كثير).
(٢) مرسل؛ ثابت تابعي، وقد ورد من حديث أنس متصلًا، أخرجه البخاري (٤٥٢٢)، ومسلم (٢٦٩٠).
Hazrat Thabit narrates that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, used to supplicate as follows: O Allah! Grant us goodness in this world, and grant us goodness in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.

٣١٣١١ - حدثنا عبيدة (بن حميد) (١) عن حميد عن (انس) (٢) قال: دخل النبي ﷺ على (رجل) (٣) كانه (فرخ) (٤) منتوف من الجهد، (قال) (٥): فقال له النبي ﷺ:"هل كنت تدعو الله بشيء؟" قال: كنت اقول: اللهم ما كنت معاقبي به في الآخرة فعجله لي في الدنيا، قال: فقال له النبي ﷺ:"الا قلت اللهم: ﴿ربنا آتنا في الدنيا حسنة وفي الآخرة حسنة وقنا عذاب النار﴾"، قال: فدعا الله فشفاه (٦).

(٢) حاشية [ك]: (بن مالك).
(٣) سقط من: [ط]، وفي [هـ]: (مريض).
(٤) سقط من: [ب].
(٥) سقط من: [ط، هـ].
(٦) صحيح؛ أخرجه مسلم (٢٦٨٨)، وأحمد (١٢٠٦٨).
Hazrat Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) went to a man who, due to hardship, looked like a weak chick with ruffled feathers. Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "Have you been supplicating to Allah for something?" He replied, "I used to pray: O Allah! Whatever punishment I am to receive in the Hereafter, give it to me in this world." Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him, "Why do you not pray like this: O Allah! Grant us goodness in this world and goodness in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire." The narrator says: When that man supplicated to Allah with this prayer, Allah granted him healing.

٣١٣١٢ - حدثنا ابو بكر بن عياش عن عاصم عن حبيب بن صهبان قال: سمعت عمر وهو يطوف حول البيت وليس له (هجيرى) (١) إلا (هؤلاء) (٢) ⦗١٧٩⦘ الكلمات: ﴿ربنا آتنا في الدنيا حسنة وفي الآخرة حسنة وقنا عذاب النار﴾ (٣).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) في [أ، ب، ط، ك]: (هجير)، وفي [جـ]: (هجيرًا).
(٢) في [ك]: (هو).
(٣) منقطع؛ عاصم لا يروي عن حبيب، أخرجه عبد اللَّه بن أحمد في زوائد الزهد ص ١١٧، والبيهقي ٥/ ٨٤، والخطيب في الموضح ٢/ ٤٧١، ومسدد كما في المطالب (١٢١٤)، والفاكهي (٤١٧).
Hazrat Habib bin Suhban narrates: I heard Hazrat Umar while he was performing Tawaf of the Ka'bah, and it was not his habit except to supplicate with these words: O our Lord! Grant us goodness in this world and goodness in the Hereafter, and save us from the punishment of the Fire.

٣١٣١٣ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن عاصم عن المسيب عن حبيب بن صهبان عن عمر بمثله (١).

With this chain of narration as well, the previous action of Hazrat Umar is transmitted.
