Regarding the Grandfather, and Those Who Consider Him Equal to the Father

٣٣٣١١ - حدثنا ابو بكر بن عياش عن إسماعيل بن سميع قال: قال رجل لابي وائل: إن ابا بردة يزعم ان ابا بكر جعل الجد ابا؟ فقال: كذب، لو جعله ابا لما خالفه عمر (١).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) منقطع؛ إسماعيل بن سميع لا يروي عن أبي وائل.
Ismail bin Samia says that a man asked Hazrat Abu Wa'il whether Hazrat Abu Burdah narrates that Hazrat Abu Bakr (may Allah be pleased with him) considered the grandfather like the father? He replied: He has lied; if he had considered him like the father, then Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) would not have opposed him.
