Narrations Regarding Refraining from Criticizing the Companions of the Prophet (peace be upon him)

٣٤٥٩٢ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن زائدة عن عاصم عن خيثمة عن النعمان ابن بشير عن النبي ﷺ قال:"خير الناس قرني، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم الذين يلونهم، (ثم الذين يلونهم) (١)، ثم ياتي قوم تسبق شهادتهم ايمانهم وايمانهم شهادتهم" (٢).

(٢) صحيح؛ عاصم ثقة في غير زر وشقيق على الصحيح؛ أخرجه أحمد (١٨٤٢٨)، وابن حبان (٦٧٢٧)، وابن أبي عاصم في السنة (١٤٧٧)، والطحاوي ٤/ ١٥٢، والبزار (٢٧٦٧/ كشف)، والطبراني في الأوسط (١١٤٤)، والحارث (١٠٣٦/ بغية)، وتمام (١٥٢٩/ الروض)، وأبو نعيم في الحلية ٢/ ٧٨.
Hazrat Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best people are those of my generation, then those who follow them, then those who follow them. Then there will come a people whose testimony will precede their oaths, and their oaths will precede their testimony.

٣٤٥٩٣ - حدثنا عفان قال: ثنا حماد بن سلمة عن الجريري عن ابي نضرة عن عبد الله بن مولة قال: كنت اسير مع (ابي بردة) (١) الاسلمي فقال: سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول:"خير هذه الامة القرن الذي بعثت فيهم، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم (الذين يلونهم) (٢)، ثم يكون فيهم قوم تسبق شهادتهم ايمانهم، ⦗١٧١⦘ وايمانهم شهادتهم" (٣).

(١) في مسند أبي يعلى: (أبي برزة)، وفي مسند أحمد وبقية المصادر: (بريدة).
(٢) في [جـ]: (الذين يلون).
(٣) مجهول؛ لجهالة عبد اللَّه بن مولة، أخرجه أحمد (٢٣٠٢٤)، وابن حبان في الثقات ٨/ ١، وابن أبي عاصم في السنة (١٤٧٤)، والطحاوي ٤/ ١٥٢، وأبو يعلى (٧٤٢٠)، والدينوري في المجالسة (٢٠٠٢).
Hazrat Abdullah bin Mawlah, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates that I was walking with Hazrat Buraidah Aslami, may Allah be pleased with him, when he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: The best individuals of this Ummah are those people of the era in which I was sent, then those who are joined with them, then those who are joined with them, then those who are joined with them. Then there will come a people whose testimonies will precede their oaths and whose oaths will precede their testimonies.

٣٤٥٩٤ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن (نسير) (١) بن (ذعلوق) (٢) قال: سمعت ابن عمر يقول: لا تسبوا اصحاب (محمد) (٣) ﷺ فلمقام احدهم ساعة خير من عمل احدهم عمره (٤).

(١) في [أ]: (بشير)، وفي [ب]: (بشر).
(٢) في [أ، ب]: (دعلوق).
(٣) في [ط، هـ]: (رسول اللَّه).
(٤) صحيح؛ نسير ثقة، أخرجه ابن ماجه (١٦٢)، وابن أبي عاصم في السنة (١٠٠٦)، ومسدد كما في المطالب (٤١٥٧)، والخطيب في التوضيح ١/ ٥٣٩، واللالكائي (٢٣٥٠)، والآجري (٢٠٠٠)، وأحمد في فضائل الصحابة (١٥).
Hazrat Naseer bin Zaalooq (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I heard Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) saying: Do not revile the companions of Muhammad صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم . For indeed, one moment of any one of them standing in the way of Allah is better than a lifetime of worship by any one of you.

٣٤٥٩٥ - حدثنا ابن نمير قال: ثنا الاعمش عن ابي إسحاق عن عمرو بن شرحبيل قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ:"خير الناس قرني، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم الذين يلونهم، ثم يجيء اقوام يعطون الشهادة قبل ان يسالوها" (١).

(١) مرسل؛ عمرو بن شرحبيل تابعي، وورد من حديث عمرو بن شرحبيل عن بلال بن سعد عن أبيه، أخرجه الطحاوي ٤/ ١٥١.
Hazrat Amr bin Shurahbil (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The best people are those of my generation, then those who will follow them, then those who will follow them; then there will come people who will give testimonies before being asked.

٣٤٥٩٦ - حدثنا زيد بن الحباب قال: ثنا عبد الله بن العلاء ابو الزبير الدمشقي قال: ثنا عبد الله بن عامر عن واثلة بن الاسقع قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ:"لا تزالون بخير ما دام فيكم من رآني وصاحبني، والله لا تزالون بخير ما دام فيكم من راى من رآني وصاحب من صاحبني، (والله لا تزالون بخير ما دام فيكم من راى من راى من ⦗١٧٢⦘ رآني، وصاحب من صاحب من صاحبني) (١)" (٢).

(٢) صحيح؛ أخرجه الطبراني ٢٢/ (٢٠٧)، وابن أبي عاصم في السنة (١٤٨١)، وتمام (٢١٩)، وابن عساكر ٣٢/ ٢٢٤.
Hazrat Wathilah bin Asqa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: You will remain in goodness as long as there is among you one who has seen me and kept my company. By Allah! You will remain in goodness as long as there is among you one who has seen the one who saw me and kept the company of the one who kept my company. And by Allah! You will remain in goodness as long as there is among you one who has seen the one who saw my companion and kept the company of the one who kept the company of my companion.

٣٤٥٩٧ - حدثنا وكيع عن هشام عن ابيه عن عائشة قالت: امروا بالاستغفار لاصحاب محمد ﷺ فسبوهم (١).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) صحيح؛ أخرجه مسلم (٣٠٢٢)، وأحمد في الفضائل (١٤).
Hazrat Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said that people were commanded to seek forgiveness for the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) of Muhammad (peace be upon him), and you people abuse them!!!

٣٤٥٩٨ - حدثنا ابو معاوية عن محمد بن خالد عن عطاء قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ:"من سب اصحابي فعليه لعنة الله" (١).

(١) مرسل؛ عطاء تابعي، أخرجه أحمد في الفضائل (١٠)، وابن أبي عاصم في السنة (١٠٠١)، والبغوي في الجعديات (٢٠١٠)، وأبو نعيم في الحلية ٧/ ١٠٣، وورد من حديث عطاء عن ابن عمر أخرجه أخرجه الطبراني في الأوسط (٧٠١٥)، والكبير (١٣٥٨٨)، والسهمي في تاريخ جرجان ١/ ٢٥١، واللالكائي (٢٣٤٨).
Hazrat Ata (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever abuses my companion, then the curse of Allah is upon him.

٣٤٥٩٩ - حدثنا حسين بن علي عن عمر بن ذر قال: إني لقائم مع الشعبي ذات يوم فاتاه رجل فقال: ما تقول في علي وعثمان؟ فقال: إني لغني ان يطلبني علي وعثمان يوم القيامة بمظلمة.
Hazrat Umar bin Zar (may Allah have mercy on him) says that one day I was standing with Imam Sha’bi (may Allah have mercy on him) when a man came to him and asked: What do you say about Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him)? Upon this, he (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: I am unconcerned that on the Day of Judgment Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Uthman (may Allah be pleased with him) would complain to me of oppression.
