Those Who Considered Castrating Horses and Animals Disliked

٣٤٧٦٠ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا عبد الله بن نافع عن ابيه عن ابن عمر قال: نهى رسول الله ﷺ عن خصاء الخيل والبهائم (١).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) ضعيف؛ لضعف عبد اللَّه بن نافع، أخرجه أحمد (٤٧٦٩)، وابن عدي ٣/ ٣٢٠، والطحاوي ٤/ ٣١٧، والبيهقي ١٠/ ٢٤، وورد موقوفًا أخرجه مالك ٢/ ٩٤٨، وعبد الرزاق (٨٤٤٠).
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the castration of horses and other animals. And Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: There is an increase of creation in them.

34761 - Ibn Umar said: In it is the growth of creation (1).

٣٤٧٦٢ - حدثنا شريك عن إبراهيم بن مهاجر عن إبراهيم ان عمر كتب ينهى عن خصاء الخيل (١).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) منقطع؛ إبراهيم لا يروي عن عمر.
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote a letter prohibiting the castration of horses.

٣٤٧٦٣ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن إبراهيم بن مهاجر البجلي قال: كتب عمر ان لا يخصى فرس ولا يجرى (بين) (١) اكثر من مائتين (٢).

(١) في [أ، ط]: (من).
(٢) منقطع؛ إبراهيم بن مهاجر لا يروي عن عمر.
Hazrat Ibrahim bin Muhajir al-Bajali, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates that Hazrat Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, wrote a letter: that horses should be castrated and they should not be raced for more than two hundred (units).

٣٤٧٦٤ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا اسامة بن زيد عن يزيد بن ابي حبيب قال: كتب عمر بن عبد العزيز إلى اهل مصر ينهاهم عن خصاء الخيل وان يجري الصبيان الخيل.
Hazrat Yazid bin Abi Habib (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Umar bin Abdul Aziz (may Allah have mercy on him) wrote a letter forbidding the people of Egypt from castrating horses, and from making children race on horses.

٣٤٧٦٥ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا ابو جعفر الرازي عن الربيع بن انس قال: سمعت انسا يقول: ﴿ولآمرنهم فليغيرن خلق الله﴾ [النساء: ١١٩]، قال: الخصاء (١).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) حسن؛ أبو جعفر صدوق، أخرجه ابن جرير ٥/ ٢٨٣، وعبد الرزاق (٨٤٤٤).
Hazrat Rabi’ bin Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) says that I heard Hazrat Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) saying that in this verse: { وَلآمُرَنَّہُمْ فَلَیُغَیِّرُنَّ خَلْقَ اللہِ }, what is meant is castration.

٣٤٧٦٦ - حدثنا ابن يمان عن سفيان عن إسماعيل عن ابي صالح قال: الخصاء.
Ismail (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Abu Salih (may Allah have mercy on him) also stated the same: that what is meant is castration.

٣٤٧٦٧ - حدثنا وكيع قال: ثنا ابو (مكين) (١) عن عكرمة انه كره خصاء الدواب.

(١) في [هـ]: (مسكين).
Hazrat Abu Makin (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Hazrat Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) considered the castration of animals to be disliked.

٣٤٧٦٨ - حدثنا حفص عن ليث عن عطاء وطاوس ومجاهد والحسن وشهر انهم كرهوا الخصاء.
Hazrat Laith (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Hazrat Ata, Hazrat Tawus, Hazrat Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on them), Hasan, and Hazrat Shahr (may Allah have mercy on him), all these personalities considered castration to be disliked.

٣٤٧٦٩ - حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن عاصم عن سالم عن ابن عمر ان عمر نهى عن الخصاء وقال: النماء مع الذكر (١).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) ضعيف؛ عاصم هو ابن عبيد اللَّه بن عاصم بن عمر، وهو ضعيف.
Hazrat Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) forbade the castration of animals, and said: "Progeny increases through the reproductive organ."
