Hazrat Qaboos's father, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates that a woman asked Hazrat Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her: "We have women among us who are Magians. On their festival, they gift us food items." She, may Allah be pleased with her, replied: "In any case, do not eat those things which are slaughtered on that day, but you may eat from their trees."

Hazrat Abu Barzah Aslami (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that some Magians lived near him. On the days of Nowruz and Mehregan, these people used to send us gifts. So he (may Allah have mercy on him) would say to his family: Whatever is from fruits and the like, accept it, and whatever is other than that, return it.

Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Abu Barzah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were participating in a certain battle. We encountered a few people from among the polytheists. We stopped them from eating bread that was baked on hot ashes, but then we ourselves got involved in it and started eating it as well. And in the days of ignorance, we used to hear that whoever eats bread becomes fat. So when we ate that bread, each one of us would look at himself to see whether he had become fat.

Hazrat Mughira (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Abu Wa'il (may Allah have mercy on him) and Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him), both said: When the Muslims arrived and found the food of the Magians, their cheese and their breads, etc., they ate these things and did not ask about them.

Hazrat Hisham (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) disliked food that was cooked in the utensils of the Magians. And he did not see any harm in eating their food except for certain things: ghee, cheese, or broth, or butter, or milk, etc.

Hazrat Hisham (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) said: There is no harm in the vinegar of the Magians, and in their broth, and in their milk, etc.

Hazrat Laith (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Hazrat Mujahid (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Do not eat anything from the food of the Magians except fruit.

Hazrat Hisham (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) and Hazrat Muhammad (may Allah have mercy on him), both of these personalities said: The polytheists used to bring ghee in their vessels. And the companions of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and the Muslims used to buy it from them. Then they would eat it, and we also used to eat it.

Hazrat Asim (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Hazrat Abu Uthman (may Allah have mercy on him) said: We used to eat ghee, but we did not eat fat or grease. And we did not ask about the utensils either.

Hazrat Mansur (may Allah have mercy on him) says that I asked Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) about mountain ghee. So he (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I prefer Arabian, but I eat mountain ghee.
