Those Who Said: Should the Martyred Be Washed or Not?

٣٥٠١٨ - حدثنا وكيع قال: (ثنا) (١) سفيان عن عيسى بن ابي عزة عن الشعبي في رجل قتلته اللصوص قال: يدفن في ثيابه ولا يغسل.
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:

Hazrat Isa bin Abi Azza (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates that Imam Sha’bi (may Allah have mercy on him) gave the ruling regarding the person who was killed by thieves: he should be buried in his clothes and should not be given a bath.

٣٥٠١٩ - حدثنا شبابة قال: اخبرني ليث بن سعد عن ابن شهاب عن عبد الرحمن بن كعب بن مالك ان جابر بن عبد الله اخبره ان النبي ﷺ لم يصل على قتلى احد، ولم يغسلوا (١).
ريفرينس و تحكيم الحدیث:
(١) صحيح؛ أخرجه البخاري (١٣٤٣)، وأبو داود (٣١٣٨)، والترمذي (١٠٣٦)، والنسائي ٤/ ٦٢.
Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not perform the funeral prayer over the martyrs of the Battle of Uhud, nor were they given a ritual bath.

٣٥٠٢٠ - حدثنا وكيع قال: (ثنا) (١) سفيان عن ابن (ابي) (٢) عروبة عن ابي معشر عن إبراهيم قال: الشهيد إذا كان في المعركة دفن في ثيابه ولم يغسل.

Hazrat Abu Ma'shar (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) stated: When someone is martyred in a battle, he will be buried in his clothes and will not be given a bath.
