Hazrat Hakam states that the first person to assume the position of judge in Kufa was Salman bin Rabee’ah Bahili. He sat like this for forty days, during which no case was brought before him.

Hazrat Husain says that the pulpit (minbar) for the two Eids was first brought out by Bishr bin Marwan, and the call to prayer (adhan) for the two Eids was first given by Ziyad.

Hazrat Sha'bi narrates that the first person to deliver the sermon while sitting was Hazrat Muawiyah. However, this happened when he had become old, his body had grown stout, and his belly had increased.

Hazrat Tamim bin Hazlam narrates that the first time the greeting of "Amarat" (governorship) was given to the governor of Kufa. It happened that Hazrat Mughirah bin Shu'bah came out of the palace, and a man from the tribe of Kindah greeted him with the salutation of "Amarat." He expressed displeasure at this and said, "What is this? I am just a man among you." After that, such a greeting was abandoned, but in later times, it was resumed.

Hazrat Saad bin Ibrahim states that the first person to deliver a sermon from the pulpit was Hazrat Ibrahim Khalilullah.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib states that Ibrahim was the first person to host guests, the first to be circumcised, the first to cut nails, the first to trim the moustache, and the first to remove the hair below the navel.

Hazrat Saeed bin Musayyib narrates that the first person to observe whiteness in the hair was Ibrahim. When his hair turned white, he submitted, "O my Lord! What is this?" Allah Almighty replied, "This is dignity." He submitted, "O Allah! Increase my dignity."

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira that the Messenger of Allah said: Hell was brought before me, and I saw ‘Amr bin Luhayy bin Qam’ah bin Khindaf in it. He was being dragged in Hell. He was the first man who altered the religion of Ibrahim and placed idols.

Hazrat Hasan bin Muslim says that in Makkah, the first person to offer Salam was Abdur Rahman bin Abzi.

Ibrahim says that the first person to reduce the takbeer was Ziyad.
