Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reports: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The dead animal of the sea is lawful, and its water is purifying."

Sayyiduna Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding the sea: "Its water is purifying and its dead (creature) is lawful."

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the sea, so he said: "Its water is purifying and its dead (animals) are lawful." These words of the narration are transmitted from the narrator named Fadl bin Ziyad; in another chain, this narration is transmitted on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him).

Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him): The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the water of the sea, so he said: "Its water is purifying and its dead (animals) are lawful."

Abu Tufail narrates: It was asked from Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (may Allah be pleased with him) about the water of the sea, so he said: "Its water is purifying and its dead (creature) is lawful."

Imam Muhammad Baqir, may Allah have mercy on him, narrates from his father (Imam Zain al-Abidin, may Allah have mercy on him), who narrates from his father (Imam Husayn, may Allah be pleased with him), who narrates from Sayyiduna Ali, may Allah be pleased with him: It is reported that the Noble Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was asked about the water of the sea, so he, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Its water is pure and its dead (animals) are lawful."

Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his father, from his grandfather: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The dead animal of the sea is lawful, and its water is pure."

Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said regarding the water of the sea: "Its dead (animals) are lawful and its water is pure."

This same narration is also transmitted with another chain of narration from Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him).

Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the water of the sea, so he said: "The water of the sea is pure." The narrators have transmitted it in this way; however, the correct view is: this narration is "Mawquf" (stopped at the Companion).
