بَابٌ: لَا يُصَلِّي مَكْتُوبَةً فِي يَوْمٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ
Chapter: One should not pray an obligatory prayer twice in one day

حدثنا ابو بكر النيسابوري ، ثنا احمد بن منصور ، وسعدان بن نصر ، وعباس بن محمد ، قالوا: نا يزيد بن هارون ، ثنا حسين المعلم ، عن عمرو بن شعيب ، حدثني سليمان مولى ميمونة، انه سمع ابن عمر ، يقول: سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول:" لا تصلوا صلاة في يوم مرتين" .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say:“Do not perform the (same) obligatory prayer twice in one day.”

حدثنا احمد بن إسحاق بن بهلول ، ثنا ابي ، نا ابو اسامة ، اخبرني حسين بن ذكوان ، اخبرني عمرو بن شعيب ، اخبرني سليمان مولى ميمونة، قال: اتيت على ابن عمر ذات يوم وهو جالس بالبلاط والناس في صلاة العصر، فقلت: ابا عبد الرحمن، الناس في الصلاة؟ قال: إني قد صليت، إني سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، يقول:" لا تصلى صلاة مكتوبة في يوم مرتين" . تفرد به حسين المعلم، عن عمرو بن شعيب. والله اعلم.
Lady Maymunah’s (may Allah be pleased with her) servant Sulayman narrates: One day I went to serve Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), he was sitting in the courtyard at that time and people were performing the Asr prayer. I said: O Abu Abdur Rahman! People are praying? He replied:“I have already performed the prayer (that is why I am not performing this prayer with the people now), because I heard the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) say: An obligatory prayer is not to be performed twice in one day.”
