Sayyiduna Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates as a marfu’ hadith:“To slaughter the mother of a child in the womb will be counted as slaughtering it.”

Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "As for the offspring present in the belly of an animal, slaughtering its mother will be considered as slaughtering it."

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Slaughtering the mother of an animal that has a fetus in its womb will be considered as slaughtering it (the fetus)." Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) states that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Slaughtering the mother of an animal that has a fetus in its womb will be considered as slaughtering it (the fetus)."

Abu Salamah and Sulayman bin Yasar report that they learned of this statement of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him): "Whoever wishes to delay may offer the sacrifice until the end of the month."
