It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar and Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is not lawful for a man to give a gift and then take it back, except for a father regarding what he gives to his child as a gift.
