بَابُ مَا جَاءَ فِي التَّرْهِيبِ مِنَ الْكِبْرِ والخيلاء
Chapter on what has been narrated regarding warning against arrogance and pride
Hadith Number: 9727
عن عبد الله بن عمرو رضي الله عنهما قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم ((بينما رجل يتبختر في حلة إذ امر الله عز وجل به الارض فاخذته وهو يتجلجل فيها او يتجرجر فيها إلى يوم القيامة))
Narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: A man was walking arrogantly in a garment, Allah Almighty commanded the earth regarding him, so the earth seized him, and he will continue to sink in it until the Day of Resurrection.

Hadith Number: 9728
عن ابي هريرة رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم قال ((بينما رجل شاب يمشي في حلة يتبختر فيها مسبلا إزاره إذ بلعته الارض فهو يتجلجل فيها إلى يوم القيامة))
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once, a young man was walking arrogantly, wearing a garment, and he had let his lower garment hang below his ankles. Suddenly, the earth swallowed him up, and he will continue to sink into it until the Day of Resurrection.
