Chapter on Admission and Denial
Hadith Number: 314
نا ابو عوانة، عن مطرف، عن عامر الشعبي في ثلاثة ورثوا ثلاث مائة درهم، فاقر احدهم بمائة دين , قال: يعطي ثلث المائة , ثم قال: هذا خطا ليس يورث ميراث حتى يقضى الدين، فامره ان يعطي المائة" .
It is narrated from 'Amir al-Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) that three individuals inherited three hundred dirhams. One of them admitted to owing a debt of one hundred dirhams, so it was ordered that he should give one third. Then it was said: "This is incorrect; inheritance is to be distributed only after debts have been paid, therefore the entire debt should be paid."

Hadith Number: 315
نا هشيم، قال: انا مطرف , عن الشعبي , قال: " إذا اقر الرجل الوارث بدين فعليه بحصته في نصيبه، ثم قال بعد ذلك: يخرج من نصيبه كله" .
Ash-Sha'bi, may Allah have mercy on him, said: "If an heir acknowledges a debt, then he should pay the debt in proportion to his share." Then he said: "His entire share will go towards the debt."

Hadith Number: 316
نا هشيم قال: انا يونس، عن الحسن في رجل مات فادعى رجل قبله دينا واقر بذلك بعض الورثة , فإن اقر منهم واحد فعليه بحصته في نصيبه , وإن اقر رجلان او رجل وامراتان جاز على جميعهم" .
Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If someone claims a debt upon a deceased person and some of the heirs acknowledge it, then the one who acknowledged it is liable for the debt according to his share. If two men or one man and two women acknowledge it, then it will be binding upon all."

Hadith Number: 317
نا خالد، عن يونس، عن الحسن في رجل ادعى على ميت الف درهم ترك الميت ابنين له، وترك الفي درهم، فاقر احدهما وابى الآخر , قال:" يعطي الذي اقر خمس مائة درهم" .
Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If someone claims a debt of one thousand dirhams against a deceased person, and the deceased left two sons and two thousand dirhams in wealth, and one of them acknowledges (the debt) while the other denies it, then the one who acknowledged it will be liable for five hundred dirhams."

Hadith Number: 318
نا ابو عوانة، عن منصور، عن إبراهيم، قال: " إذا ادعى بعض الورثة اخا او اختا فليس بشيء حتى يقروا جميعا" .
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If some heirs claim a brother or sister, then until all (the heirs) acknowledge (him/her), he/she will not be considered an heir."

Hadith Number: 319
نا ابو شهاب، عن خالد الحذاء، عن ابن سيرين، عن شريح , قال: " من اقر لوارث بدين عند موته لم يجز" .
Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If a person, at the time of his death, acknowledges a debt in favor of an heir, then this acknowledgment will not be valid."

Hadith Number: 320
نا هشيم , قال: انا خالد الحذاء، عن ابن سيرين، عن شريح " انه كان لا يجيز إقرار الرجل عند موته بدين لوارث" .
It is narrated from Shurayh (may Allah have mercy on him) that he would not accept the acknowledgment of debt at the time of death for any heir.

Hadith Number: 321
نا جرير بن عبد الحميد، عن مغيرة، عن الشعبي، قال: " إذا شهد شاهدان او رجل وامراتان من الورثة بدين على الميت جاز على جميع الورثة" .
Ash-Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "When two witnesses, or one man and two women from among the heirs, testify to a debt upon the deceased, then this testimony will be binding upon all the heirs."

Hadith Number: 322
نا هشيم، قال: انا سيار , قال: قال حماد... إبراهيم , فقال: " إذا شهد بعض الورثة بدين على الميت ففي انصبائهم، او يتبعان به سائر الورثة" .
Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If some heirs testify to the deceased's debt, then they should pay from their own shares or accuse the other heirs as well."

Hadith Number: 323
نا هشيم، قال: انا يونس، وداود بن ابي هند، عن الحسن، انه كان يقول: " إذا اقر الرجل لامراة بصداقها عند موته جاز لها صداق مثلها" .
Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "If someone acknowledges the dowry (mahr) of his wife at the time of his death, then it will be obligatory to give according to the mahr of women like her."
