Hazrat Ka'b bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) wanted to marry a Jewish or Christian woman, so the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade him and said: "She will not protect you."

Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) married a Jewish woman. Sayyiduna Umar ibn Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote to him: "Divorce her." Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote in reply: "Is she unlawful (haram)?" Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote: "No, but I fear that you may begin to associate with their immoral women."

Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "One of the six companions of the Shura married a Jewish woman." I asked: "Was it Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him)?" He replied: "If it was him, then he was very honorable in marriages."

It is narrated from Ibn Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) that Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) married a Jewish woman. Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said something to him about this, so Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Is she unlawful (haram)?" Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) replied: "No, but you are a leader of the Muslims, so leave her."

Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "There is no harm for a Muslim woman to marry a Jewish or Christian woman, and the turn of nights will be divided equally among them."

Hazrat Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him) and Hazrat 'Ubaidah (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "When someone keeps a Jewish or Christian woman in marriage along with a Muslim woman, then the turn between them will be equal, and if he accuses her (of adultery), there will be no li'an (mutual cursing)."

Hasan al-Basri (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "Every husband and wife have the right of li'an between them."
